Do I need all those roots, hooks and nooks?
From SuperMemopedia
[edit] Question
I am trying out the SuperMemo system using the SuperMemo 98 freeware. I thought I would test it by entering in data related to the laws of soccer, and everything went great until I hit 100 items, at which point it said I had reached the maximum for this something-or-other and now I have to worry about hooks, nooks, categories and other stuff.
It was my understanding that everything should be in one "pool" of data (for example, I wouldn't have different databases for soccer, personal, work, language etc.) But what is the purpose of categories and such? I've found the "Contents" section that shows the list of questions I've entered and allows me to arrange them in different tree-like configurations, but I can't find anywhere that tells me what the goal or purpose of this is.
Has this portion of the program ever been described anywhere?
