Does SuperMemo work with Internet Explorer 9?
From SuperMemopedia
[edit] Question
Can I safely install Internet Explorer 9? I use SuperMemo 2008, but I worry that again I will be penalized by incompatibilities (like in previous Internet Explorer upgrades).
[edit] Answer
You can use SuperMemo 2008 with Internet Explorer 9.
However, before you install IE9, please read the following:
- it is recommended that you download a version of SuperMemo 2008 optimized for IE9 (please e-mail for download instructions)
- Internet Explorer 9 is vastly superior to Internet Explorer 8 and it also improves the performance of SuperMemo
- older versions of SuperMemo may experience some problems with IE9 (unfortunately, no updates are planned except for SuperMemo 2004 Freeware)
- the most annoying problem in unoptimized versions is that some options of Wikipedia filter do not work (as a result, Wiki articles may be left with some garbage leftovers like table of contents, Edit links, print footers, navigation links, etc.)
- the older your SuperMemo is, the greater the number of incompatibility issues that may affect incremental reading (if you do not use incremental reading, you do not need to worry about IE compatibilties)
